Year 5

Welcome to our Year 5 class! Our class teacher is Mrs Johnson, she is helping us to become independent and determined learners. To help us reach this, we have the wonderful Mrs Ward, who works with us on a daily basis. We look forward to having a marvellous year of growing, learning and memorable experiences.

    Mrs Wilson came to speak to Year 5 as part of Careers Week. She told us all about how she became a surgeon and she even brought in some props to show us. There was no blood though. she gave a brilliant talk.

    Year 5 completed the Bikeability programme, achieving Level 1 and 2 in Bikeability.

    At the end of the first Summer Term all of Year took part in the Sunderland City Council Bikeability Programme. The children took part in road safety talk and then went out on the roads to learn how to ride your bike safely on the road. All children achieved Level 1 or Level 2. We were very proud of them all.

    We all took part in the Sports Leaders Programme and were so excited to bring our ideas back to school.
    Great moves in gymnastics.
    We made maps in Art.
    Children in Need Day.

    Year 2 visit Beamish Museum

    Year 2 had a fantastic visit to Beamish Museum. We enjoyed a tram ride, leant about and played with old toys, saw the pit ponies and had lunch in the tea rooms. The Rotary club very kindly bought all the children an ice cream as well!

    Girls Football Team

    Congratulations to our girls football team who made it to the Washington girls cup finals. They team have excellent determination and sporting attitude during all training sessions and matches. Well done girls we are very proud.
