Emmaus Village

We have close links with the Emmaus Youth Village in Consett.

Every year we encourage our Year 5 children to participate in a residential retreat for two nights at the Emmaus Village. The theme of the retreat this year was Living Hope.

In Year 6, the children participate in the youth festival with other Year 6 children from different primary schools in the Summer term. This is a reflective day of prayer, liturgical dance and group activities, which allow the children to reflect on themselves, their community and the wider world.

“We aim to encourage young people into a relationship with Christ and fully into the life of the Church.” YMT Mission Statement

Year 5 Emmaus Village Retreat

Living Hope

Year 5 had the best time on their residential visit to the Emmaus Visit. They took part in a number of activities relating to our retreat theme – Living Hope. They took part in arts, crafts, drama and prayer groups. Year 5 throughly enjoyed the escape room and meeting with another school and making new friends. It was a fantastic experience for all. They even learned a new liturgical dance that they performed to the school and parents as part of our Celebration of the Word.
