Mini Vinnies

Mini-Vinnies are part of the St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVP). They are an international Christian voluntary organisation whose main aim is to tackle poverty and help people in need. Our Mini-Vinnies are made up of children from Year 4 to Year 6 and are led by Mrs Johnson. The Mini-Vinnies live out their mission of see, think and do, by supporting the school and wider community.

Harvest Festival

Our Mini-Vinnies organised our Harvest Festival, where they requested items to be donated to support the People’s Kitchen in Newcastle, a worthwhile charity, supporting homeless and vulnerable people.

World Mental Health Week

As part of World Mental Health Week, our Mini-Vinnies made kindness cards to distribute to parents and the people of our local parish church. The aim of the kindness cards was to brighten someone’s day and make someone feel special and thought of.

Remembrance Crosses

As part of the remembrance month of November, our Mini-Vinnies children sold remembrance crosses in school. The idea of the crosses was to write the name of special people the children would like to remember and decorate the cross. It could then be hung in school on our remembrance tree or taken home for reflection.

Christmas

The Mini-Vinnies made gift tags to sell at our Christmas Fair. They raise £60, which they donated to the SVP Christmas initiative – Lift a Life. Where our donation was doubled for families to afford essentials.
