As part of their Faith in Action, Year 6 have worked very hard to create these beautiful Christmas cards to share with care homes and spread some Christmas joy in our local community.

Our Year 6 pupils have been busy exploring the fascinating world of light. First, they designed their own investigation to demonstrate that light travels in straight lines. Building on this, they then used prisms and torches to uncover the hidden secret of white light—that it is actually made up of the full spectrum of colours!
It’s been wonderful to see their curiosity, teamwork, and scientific thinking in action. Well done, Year 6!

As part of their Faith in Action, Year 6 have been selling Christmas Cards. All money raised will be donated to the British Heart Foundation- a charity chosen by the Year 6 pupils.

We have a new music teacher! Mrs Ingram has been teaching us about different instruments and if they belong to the percussion or string family. We have been learning to play different instruments and experimenting with different tempos, rhythms and dynamics. We have also learnt how to warm up our voices and how to project our voice when singing.

Year 6 had a fantastic time at Derwent Hill. They climbed mountains, tries gorge walking, did a night walk, explored caves and much much more.

Year 6 led us beautifully and respectfully in our Remembrance Day service.

In our P.E. lessons we have been learning the rules of handball and learning the necessary skills.

We took part in an anti-bullying workshop where we looked at the different types of bullying and how people who are being bullied may feel.

We are thrilled to announce our new House Group Captains and Vice Captains for this year! They will be fantastic role models and leaders for your houses!

Year 6 have been enjoying learning the skills necessary to play basketball.

In our art lessons we are redesigning packaging for cereal boxes. We have created our own design for a brand.

Here are our finished products. Don’t they look amazing!

As part of our Faith in Action, Year 6 are leading the whole school in Rosary at a Monday and Wednesday playtime during the month of October.
