Information about our Curriculum offer

Curriculum

Our curriculum is designed to ensure pupils:

  • Develop the key skills they need to access the broad curriculum, leading to increased confidence to learn and the ability to succeed.
  • Can develop and excel in a range of subjects, so we can develop potential mathematicians, writers, historians, geographers, scientists, theologists, culturalists, sportspeople …
  • Set high standards for themselves and develop the knowledge and skills needed to become life-long learners and reach their true potential

At  St. Joseph’s we use the Little Wandle programme to teach phonics in KS1 and Foundation Stage. This is a systematic teaching of synthetic phonics and is a highly successful way of developing children’s reading, spelling and language.

See below for subject specific information, or view our policies page for general curriculum policies. To find out more about the School Curriculum please view our school policies or contact the school office.
