Charitable Giving

Big Lent Walk

During Lent we participated in CAFOD’s Big Lent Walk to raise awareness and vital funds for communities in the world facing poverty, conflict and climate crisis.

Harvest Festival

During our Harvest Festival, our school community collected donations of tinned vegetables, tinned fruit, soup, cooking ingredients, snacks, drinks, desserts, pasta, rice and toiletries. The collection was donated to the People’s Kitchen in Newcastle who support vulnerable and homeless people to fight hunger and loneliness.

Children in Need

We always enjoy Children in Need day in school. This year we held a non-uniform day where the children could wear anything which made them feel happy! We raised over £100 for this worthwhile charity.

Royal British Legion

During the month of November we remember our loved ones who have gone before us. We also support the Royal British Legion Poppy appeal who provide vital support for serving personnel, veterans and their families, addressing homelessness, mental health and financial difficulties.

Centrepoint Homeless Charity

Our Year 1 class has chosen Centrepoint for their nominated class charity this year. Centrepoint work with young people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness by providing advice and accommodation. We held a non-uniform day in school to raise money for them. We raised £179.60 for this chosen charity. Year 1 held a Celebration of the Word on this day and talked about how they could help homeless people. A donation of money and a warm coat was added to their focal table as part of their Celebration of the Word.
