First Holy Communion

At St. Joseph’s, our Year 4 children embark on a spiritual journey to prepare for their First Holy Communion through engaging and informative sessions led by Mrs Easton and Mrs Hampson, our First Holy Communion Catechists.

These sessions take place every few weeks in the Emmaus Room at Our Lady Immaculate church, just before Sunday Mass. Designed to deepen their understanding of the Mass and the significance of Holy Communion, the children explore the meaning behind each part of the service and why we celebrate this sacrament together as a community.

Each child receives their own workbook, I Belong, which is filled with fun activities to help guide them along their path to First Holy Communion. The children will then come together in a specially dedicated Mass in June to celebrate this important milestone in their faith.
